"The Art of Melting"

I just had to document Kayla's recent trick of melting every time she gets upset. I love the red! It is my favorite color but I almost never use it in scrapbooking. Strange. And can I say... I LOVE PAGE MAPS!! Here it is:

Gift for JJ's teacher

I just finished making a gift for my nephew's (JJ) teacher. It is an altered clipboard personalized with her name. He is going to give it to her before school is out for the summer:

Here it is (with the matching card) from the front:

and the back (and inside of the card):

I still have to make some for Emily's teachers. I will post pics of those as I get them done. :o)

"Scrap the Future"

I received a challenge to "scrap the future". These two pages were created out of this idea. The "mom" page came first. It contains a letter to my two girls. Things that I want them to know. My hopes and dreams for their future. My prayers for their lives. Then Jared wrote them a letter and I created a "dad" counterpart. The journaling strips have lyrics from contemporary Christian music. On my page it has a verse from "Hosanna" from Hillsongs United. This is by far my favorite song right now. Jared's also contains lyrics from a (different) Hillsongs United praise song. These were very special for me to make and I hope that the girls read them over and over again through their lives.

mini me

This LO is featuring... mini me! I am guessing I was about 3 in this pic. I love the striped Osh Kosh Overalls with the yellow terry hoodie and pig tails. This is my favorite pic of me when I was little... and the only one that I have! (don't worry, it's a digi copy).

On a Roll - more scrappy stuff

I am on a role! I created two more layouts and another card today. Here they are...
Photobucket
This LO is made from a pic that I took this last weekend at Selah Community Days. The girls were on a kiddie ride where they were driving this jeep around a circle. Emily was in the backseat directing Kayla (as if Kayla could control where or how fast they went) and flirting with the boys in the car in front of theirs. Oye. And so it begins...
Photobucket
This last layout was for a challenge on the scrappygirls forum. The challenge was to use 20 DIFFERENT patterned papers on a single page. This is what I came up with:

On Display

Well I had a totally fun thing happen today! I took in my "future tree huggers" layout (posted just below this entry) to Bella Scrapbooking in Yakima. I had made the LO using products I bought there and as part of a blog challenge for the store. I showed it to the gals and they liked it so much that they asked to display it in the store! Of course I said yes! I will get a pic of it on display this weekend and post it here. How fun! I feel so honored. *YAY*

Future Tree Huggers

Photobucket
This turned out great! One of my favorites! The trees are made from a fabric/paper and the edges, as well as the buttons, are hand sewn. The edge of the faux bois paper is also edged with stitching. I think it turned out beautiful! Inside the folder I added pages to hold journaling and more pictures.

Hamburger Card

Here is a card that I made for my dad for father's day:

Selah Community Days

Today we spent the whole day at Wixson Park in Selah, Wa for their community days festival. It was scorching hot (it topped 99 degrees by 4pm) but I got a lot of great pictures. Here are a few of my favorites:

"Thanks a Latte"

This is a really cute card that Emily and I each made at Scrapbook Central yesterday. It was a free make and take project. Emily did great!! She is giving her card to her teacher with a starbucks gift card. Have I mentioned.... I love coffee!!

"Field Day" mini album

This is a mini-album that I completed a few days ago. The pictures highlight a recent "field day" that we took the girls to. The album itself was from a Creative Cafe class I did at Bella Scrapbooking in Yakima. Here is what I came up with:
