So how do you enter?? You have to go to THIS post at 2 Scrappy Chix Designs and take part in this week's "Make the Most of Your Stash" challenge. All details are on the 2SCD message board. Questions? Just ask!! :o) Hope to see you there...

Orange/Green challenge

First, I am so frustrated with my camera! My pictures are so washed out and blurry. Nothing I change on the settings seem to help. Grrrr....

Moving on.... this LO is my example for this week's challenge at 2SCD. The challenge is to use two colors you don't normally use... for me this means Orange and Green. Partway into creating this LO i realized it was taking on a very 50's vibe so I went with it and added the owl rub-ons. I {heart} owls! Here's the LO:

Silly Smooch

This has always been one of my favorite pictures of Emily and Kayla. It was taken about 2 years ago at Wal Mart. We were just trying to "fill up our poses" (you know how they make you do like a bazillion shots just to buy the one?) and I told Kayla to kiss Emmy. This is what happened!

Almost everything on here is American Crafts (except the scallop and the ribbon). This LO is so bright and cheery! This LO was inspired by a layout on Tally by Suzuyuki! Thank you for the great inspiration!!

Ha Ha!

Kelly

This is for my little sis, Kelly (she's almost 30, LOL). I made the flower using scraps from the other projects (below) and hand made the wings. The oval I cut on my cricut and hand-sewed embroidery floss around the edge. The wings are edges in blue stickles (*sigh* I love stickles). The letters are from Hobby Lobby. :o)

Walkabout LO

This is my favorite of all of the things I have made in the past few days! I am absolutely in love with this LO. The die cut paper in back (the brown swirly one) is from the March Kit. The background is a piece of cardboard (the kind they stick in your bag at the scrappy stores to keep you from bending your papers), the deer is sass lass and the journaling tag thing is My Minds Eye. I hand stitched the brown border (switched to an angle stitch over the strip of blue) and added some of the distressed stickles from the march kit around the die cut to make it pop. Oh! and the brown letters are also from the March kit (they are made by Basic Grey) but I doodled around them with my white pen to make them stand out a little better.

Mini Album with Mark's Paper Co

I am addicted to mini albums. It's no secret. I love that I can put 15 pictures all in one spot. This is one that I created using the 2SCD March Kit featuring Marks Paper Company. All of the pictures are from '98-'01 while I was in college in Portland, Oregon (Warner Pacific College):

RA Retreat LO

This is another LO that I made using the March kit from 2 Scrappy Chix Designs. The pp is from Mark's Paper Company, the green paper is the backside of that paper. The brown alphas (for the title) are Basic Grey. The flowers are cut from the left over pp. The subtitle (RA) is covered in the distressed stickles. This is perfect bc it almost looks like sand and this picture was taken at our RA (Resident Advisor) Retreat on the Oregon coast in 2000! The things not from the kit: the red RA alphas and } are thickers and I used embroidery floss for the hand sewn rectangle.

The LO was inspired by a challenge over at Tally.

LO using 2SCD March Kit

I stayed up WAY too late tonight and made a LO using the March kit from 2 Scrappy Chix Designs (see post below). Every single thing on this LO is from that kit (except the journaling pen). I used the Maya Mist to create a background on the burgundy cardstock. You can also see it splattering the other elements including the flowers. I also used it to color the chipboard letters that spell "adore". My favorite part is the arc that is cut from a piece of the patterned paper from Marks Paper Company. I especially love the journaling that I wrote along that arc. Here it is!

Photobucket

look at all of the great flowers, tags, ribbon and distress stickles:

and a shot of my handsome husband, Jared. I took this pic the summer we got engaged. Isn't he hot?? LOL This also shows the chipboard letters and splatter from the Maya Mist:

sneaky peak...

I completed a LO for the "pre-challenge" at Punk Rock Scrappers. Usually I am too lame to do such challenges but seeing as Adrienne is on their DT (they obviously have good taste), I wanted to give it a go. So, because I can't get a decent pic until morning, here's a sneak peak:

Love it so far? ME TOO! Check back tomorrow and I'll get the whole thing up. :)

Thank You Audrey!

Audrey at 2 Scrappy Chix Designs sent me this amazing RAK as part of last month's cyber crop. I started drooling from the second I opened the envelope. This is the perfect RAK for me, too. I have two little girls so the butterfly album will be put to good (and quick) use and I am totally in love with the pp! THANK YOU SO MUCH AUDREY!! :o)

Like this RAK? there's plenty more fun stuff being dished out during the March event (see post below for info and link). See you there!

March Stash at 2SCD - week 2 LO

There's still plenty of time to join the March "make the most of your stash" challenge at 2 Scrappy Chix Designs. This week's challenge is to creat a LO using a Spring Poem as part of your journaling. As two extra "bonus" entries, you can add ribbon and stickles. Remember, the grand prize for this month's challenge is the AMAZING February Kit... FREE! Yep, all that goodness (sells for $30).... for free! Check it out and post a few new Layouts for your chance to win!

Here's my LO and some detail for this week's challenge:

I made the two flowers (the "lollipop flower" and the "ruffle flower" out of the pp)

The sweet little poem I chose (no author was named on the internet site, just that a child wrote it):

All paper is from a Making Memories "kit" that my SIL got me for Christmas. TFL!

Adrienne's Blog-a-versary RAK

Adrienne is having her one-year blog-a-versary this month and she's put 2 RAKS up for random drawing! Yep, TWO. Cuz she rocks like that! Check out her blog, leave a comment and tell her I sent you. Then maybe you could win one and I could win the other?? :o) Sounds like a plan! But you only have until midnight on March 14th (Sat) so.... SCOOT!

Family Picture

My SIL got married in December and as part of her photos, we took a family picture. Emily and Kayla were flower girls (complete with their "pageant hair") and Jared was an usher. I was busy making the wedding cake when the girls came in to show me their completed ensamble.... holy macaroni that was some big ol' hair! But they felt like princesses so I was happy for them. It's a nice pic so I thought I'd share...

One Smart Chick

This LO is about my grades last semester. On the left is a printout of my "unofficial transcript" showing all A's and a 4.0 gpa. The thing in the middle is a copy of my certificate for The Dean's list and the journaling card (library card) pulls out to show tons of writing.

This was inspired by a challenge ("What I love about me") at Tally and a "Use your scraps" challenge at 2 Scrappy Chix Designs. (links to both are in my right side bar)

"Pot of Gold" card!

This is based on a sketch posted at Page Maps and a challenge (to use the sketch to make a St Patricks Day Card) at Tally. I think it is whimsical and makes me smile! Anyone for some green beer? yeah, me neither. LOL! :o)

A fun RAK!

Thanks to a very generous Tally Buddy I received a great RAK in the mail today. Let me tell you, I pretty much squealed when Jared brought the mail in and I saw that bubble envelope. The funnest part was that I had NO idea what was in the RAK so it was like opening a much anticipated Christmas present!! Here's what she sent:
