Toot Toot
I received a very cool email just now - I have a project that will be published in November's issue of the Scrapbooking.com Magazine! I am VERY excited!! Yay! More info when I get it. :o)
Addendum: I got more exciting news on 9/1 (I can't post it as a new topic bc I want the blog challenge to stay on top). Well, the first exciting (non scrappy news) is that I have been appointed (ie, I applied and was chosen) to be a senator on my school's student government. I guess that they want the perspective of a "returning adult" student. LOL. I guess I am getting old when I have to categorize myself as "returning adult". Oye. Anyway, tonight (9/2) I had my first Senate meeting and was "confirmed" (the whole senate voted, aye or nae) and the sworn in. Kinda nerve racking but also fun. I now have Student Government meetings every Wednesday night.
Now onto the scrappy news, I got an email yesterday (9/2) saying that I made it onto the design team at InaDink Designs! YAY! I am very excited and also nervous. But I am sure it will be great. I will let you know more about it (it is a new blog, i believe) as soon as I know (including the web address).
That's it for now. Yay for fun news!!

Sassafrass Sample and a Bday Card
So in one of my scrappy magazines this month there was a tear out card with a Sassafrass paper sample. It was in there to show a new line of papers that all have a die cut edge (scallops, ric rac, etc). I fell in love with it, it is so cute! So I made a card with it. It is still missing the quote or sentiment for the round journaling tabs so if anyone has any ideas, PLEASE let me know. :o)

I also made this card for my sister-in-laws 25th Birthday this last Friday:
wanna see why my card (and gift) got "shown up" by her boyfriends? And see a couple of quick shots of my girls, visit http://www.youtube.com/user/scrappyerin . (sorry the video is so shaky, I am not much of a movie-maker!).

Go Jump In A Creek!

I created this LO for a sketch contest over at http://www.gettinsketchy.blogspot.com/. Here are a few up-close pics:

I really like that in the bottom right picture it looks like kayla is purposefully looking at the frog. I did that totally (or should that be "toad-ally"??) by mistake but it ended up really cute.

My last post for the evening...
I made this LO at Bella's (do you see a theme here, lol). It is about a group of pictures of Kayla that I have been waiting to use. I love the way it turned out. Here it is:

The start of something great...
I started this LO at a crop at Bella this last weekend. It is obviously going to be a Christmas LO. I have only ever done one other Christmas LO before so this is fun. I used Julie's stamps to turn the gardenias into poinsettias. I stamped the flower in a sort of wine color then colored it in with my ab fab favorite glitter pens. Then I used this new white marker that I got that night to line the edges. Awesome. Love that pen (thanks Julie!). I also used Bella's die cutting machine to make the dove. I then used my water pen and my blue ink pad to edge the dove. The buttons are from Creative Cafe and every single product on the LO is from Bella's. If you are in Yak - Bella's is the place to shop!! Anyway, here is the start of my LO. Will finish soon. No time now. LOL.

I am not sure how I am going to finish it yet but there WILL be white stitching involved. Stay tuned...

Princesses LO
These are horrible pictures of my LOs but I was in a rush. Loooong story. Will share someday.
This is a LO using pictures of my girls from Wal Mart (gotta love 1,494 pictures for $8!) last year. I know the right side is empty. That's the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it. :o)

Adrienne's Sketch for July
Check out Adrienne's Blog! She is doing a sketch contest every month. Sometimes there are prizes, sometimes not. But it's fun to play along! This months' sketch is:
And my LO (I am a bit tentative about it but I like the butterfly, especially how the wings stick up off of the page)

My last day...
Today was my last day at my new job... I know, crazy. I had such a wonderful time working there even if it wasn't for as long as I had hoped. The people there were so friendly and made me feel welcome. A truly nice change of pace from the "other place" (not to name names and all). If any of you from CF&CS read this... thank you. :o)

Sketch at 2S4U
Have you checked out "2 Sketches 4 You"? They post a new sketch every week. This week's sketch was:
I used a new picture of my daughters' as my inspiration. Here is my card using this sketch:
My favorite part are the 3D trees. I used pop dots to make them stand out from the page. I also used pop dots at the top of the picture to make it lean out slighty:
The card is actually white but I used ink to create the wood-toned border:
I also sewed around the outside edge of the patterned paper with a zig zag stitch, around the border with a straight stitch and used my machine (w/o thread) to create the paper pierced look around the photo:
I hope that you like it, wish me luck in the contest!!

Progess...
I finally have a few things to show you! I am so totally not used to working a 40 hour week and I have been EXHAUSTED lately. Poor me. lol.
This card is for my cousin Dawson. He is 6 and complained to his mom that he never gets cards that are "just for him". So how could I resist, he has his very own robot card in the mail (hope he likes it!).
These are just a couple of quick bday cards I threw together:

And lastly, I got my RAK in the mail from Adrienne's sketch challenge. THANK YOU ADRIENNE! I love it all!! Here is what she sent me:
She is having a new challenge due by the end of the month. Check out her blog using the link on the right side of the screen. I will post a pic of my LO when I get it finished.
