Cricut - Lovin' The Bug!
I have already played with my Cricut!! I went to the Cricut website and was browsing through the message boards when I found an awesome post showing how to use the George cartridge (the one that comes with the machine) to make an adorable Cricut image (Here's the link to that post in case you want to make one of your own). So, I made one right away. And he needed a home so I made a LO for him to live on! I used a piece of pp from my Jan Tally kit (I used a piece of MM paper to trace that shape then cut it out by hand), one of my free tags I won from the Creative Cafe blog, and some random stuff from my stash.
I still have to add a photo (I'll take one later, when I can get it developed) to the white photo matt. The journaling (on the blue tag that slips behind the photo matt that I made into a pocket using foam adhesive sqauares) is the exact blog post I wrote earlier today. To create the actual layout I used a Becky Fleck Page Map (feb '09).
Without further ado, here he is!
Here's some detail:

Best husband EVER!
Today after church we were looking through some fliers and I saw that JoAnne's had a Cricut on sale (the little one) for $99!! I told Jared about it and he took me to check it out.... and bought it for me! I am so excited, I have wanted one for so long I can't even remember! I have just been too stingy to buy one. But now I finally do, all because of my generous, loving, handsome, wonderful, giving, enabler of a husband. Boy I love that guy! :o)

Our crazy morning...
Every morning I drive Emily to school somewhere around 7:50 am. The school is just a few minutes from our house but in the drive we pass through a Kansas State Highway (K15). At this time of morning K15 is pretty quite but it is the major road between Wichita and several smaller towns so there are lots of commercial trucks and semi's that use it regularly (including my husband who drives a delivery truck for a bread company).
After dropping Emily off at school this morning we were back at that intersection, waiting at the light to cross through K15. There was a white SUV in front of me. When the light turned green, she pulled into the intersection and was hit by a Semi going full speed!! I have no idea why he didn't stop at the red light (not paying attention? the sun was bright so maybe it was blocking his view??) but he hit that poor lady SO hard. He hit the front left corner of her car which made him swerve into the oncoming lane of K15. She spun around and was almost sideways when her car stopped. The whole front of her SUV was ripped off and laying everywhere. Her air bags went off and she wasn't bleeding and nothing was broken. Praise God! Literally, because it could have been so much worse. And thankfully, she didn't have any other children in the car (she was coming from dropping her kids off at the elementary school, too).
After we (all of the drivers who saw this happen) called 911, made sure she was basically ok, made sure she was away from her car in case it caught fire (there were lots of fluids running from under it) and helped her call her husband I went back and sat in my car. Kayla was in the backseat so I was trying to explain what happened and why I was getting in and out of my car in the middle of the road.
Then I sat behind my steering wheel and prayed. I thanked God for protecting this woman as much as He had. I thanked Him that no other cars were involved. And I thanked Him that it wasn't Kayla and I. We were next and so it sunk in that it could have easily been us.
We stayed there for about 35 minutes after it happened, making sure she was on her way to the hospital (ironically, the one her husband works at) and filling out forms. Then Kayla and I SLOWLY drove home. So thankful for God's loving hand and protection.

Hola, Lola
Card for a "secret pal". She only speaks Spanish and I think it is super fun to say "hola, lola!". I hope she likes it!
The flash washed out the color, the background is a very crisp black/cream with bright ribbons and flowers. Mmmm... It makes me smile!

HOLY CUCUMBER I LOVE THIS!
This is SO cool. And I made it. I feel like a proud mommy all over again. LOL.
This is also for the crop at 2 Scrappy Chix Designs. The challenge was to take tags/bags to make a mini album. I didn't have those but I had some library cards/sleeves and some Basic Grey paper (Wassail line) that I have been wanting to put together to make something. So, here it is!!!
Here's the library cards "before":
Front Cover:

Inside Pages:

Isn't it fab? Mmmm.... i may become a fan of Basic grey afterall! I can't wait to get my Christmas pics developed (yeah, I'm behind... sad) and get them in here with some journaling. Woo hoo!

Love challenge
This challenge was to use a "LOVE" theme and traditional Valentine's Day colors. Not sure how I feel about it. I think I am pushing my MOJO too far...
I used lots of bling (the title, along the scallops, center of the flowers) and I even used lace. I must be delirious...

Robot Box
This is a "Make and Take" put up at 2SCD by Megan. She provided the pattern to make this really cute gift box that fits the little tubs of play-doh. She also has templates for a CARS themed one and a Disney Princess themed one. I just used the plain template and added my own paper. I used a holographic robot sticker (so cute!) and some ribbons. I also added two brads to the top and back to make a closure. Not sure who will receive this box but I'll put it in my gift wrap stash, it would be really cute to tuck a gift card and a little candy inside for a last minute gift. Here it is:
and the other image on the sticker:

and the closure:
If you want to make one of your own (they are fun to make!) get the Template HERE. :o) Thanks Megan!

Let's get real...
I was going to wait to post all of my stuff that I have been doing at 2 Scrappy Chix Designs for their Crop Your Heart Out event going on this weekend but.... let's get real... I will never get around to taking "better" pictures. LOL. So the next few posts will have some pretty junky pictures of my LOs. Sorry about that. :o) But I hope you can see them enough to know that I love the results! I haven't done very many LOs lately and it feels SO good to be getting some of these pictures scrapped. So... here it goes...
This LO was for a Blog Scraplift Challenge. So I went to Deb's Blog and lifted this LO (second thing down). I loved the clean lines and the "blockiness" of her LO. So here is what I came up with using my Twitterpated pp and rub-ons by imaginisce:
and some detail:
This next LO was for a journaling challenge. The challenge was to put your journaling in strips. I'm not a huge journaler (shame on me!) so I mounted my title onto little rectangle squares backed with felt. I also made the cupcake by hand out of felt. The overall LO turned out simple but sweet:
the title:
and my cutey cupcake:
This last one only turned out so-so. The challenge was to take paper that you didn't love and turn it into something you do. Well, I took some "giraffe spots" paper and made a zoo LO. I didn't do anything to change it, I just actually USED it (which I wouldn't have, it would have just sat in my stash for years to come or until I gifted it to my two little crafters). I like the LO. But... it is busy. LOL. It looks better in person bc you can see depth which helps. But... busy, yeah. LOL. Anyway, here it is (going against my better judgement.. .I'm going to show you... don't judge me... LOL):
and a side shot to show some of the "depth" to all of this madness:
That's all of my LOs so far. I have more on my "to do" list. Will post soon. :)

Crop Your Heart Out - 1st Challenge
You should be seeing lots of stuff popping up this weekend from me (hopefully!) because the crop has begun at 2 Scrappy Chix Designs. There are several challenges posted and there will be more throughout the weekend. Don't worry if you come in "late", there's plenty of room and some great prizes up for grabs!
The first challenge that I chose was a sketch challenge by Danielle. I used a picture that I had been wanting to scrap for over FOUR YEARS so I am so happy this provided me the mojo to get it done. I love the unconventional orange, brown and blue scheme for a picture about little girls. I was able to use several things from my Tally kit so that also makes me happy.
Well, without further ado, here it is:
*sorry about the glare. It never works out very well taking pictures at night but I wanted to get it loaded bc of the challenge
and here is a close up that shows off all of the yummy products:
Ok, I am off to (maybe) start another challenge. This is fun! If you want product details about this LO, visit HERE.

Valentine's Day Cards
Here are the cards that I made for my sisters, as promised! The first one is for my older sister, Molly. She's sort of a hopeless romantic so I thought this was perfect for her:
Here's the flowers (pre-made, by K&Co) close up:
This one is for my younger sister, Kelly and her fiance Tim. She has a fun, funky personality so I got to play with some of my stash. i bought this stamp in the $1 section at Michaels and i love it. I also love the felt embellies (from the Target $1 section!):
And a close up, just for fun:
Finally, here is a new stamp I bought on sale at Hobby Lobby, My love for it grew right away (ha ha, get it??):

I accidentally lied
Oops! I promised to upload some pics but I appear to be a liar!! But it wasn't on purpose, promise! This morning I get a call from Jared's mom and she says "did you remember that I am going to pick the girls up from school today?" and I say "hmmm, nope" (bc I was lost). And she told me that she would pick the girls up from school so that Jared and i could have a WHOLE day together!!! And that she would make them dinner then bring them back to our house for baths and then put them to bed. She just asked that we be home by 9p. This was awesome bc I hardly ever get to spend time with Jared. He works around 85 hours a week right now so even when he is around I have to share him with everyone and he's usually pretty tired.
So we spent the day doing nothing. Just being together. Awe. We went to Target, got his hair cut (where we watched this crazy mom force her 10 year old son to cut off all of his hair as a punishment for goodness only knows what and the poor, sweet boy was crying the whole time), went to the mall and went bowling. Where i found out I suck at bowling! LOL. I think I hit 50. Jared was up near 160 and the boys in the lane next to us were like in awe of him. It was cute.
So, Sorry I lied! But I promise I'll add some pics soon. :)

Neglecting my posts
Ugh! I just realized that I haven't posted in like 9 days! Sorry to bore anyone peeking in but I haven't had any energy to scrap. I am taking an Accounting class this semester and it is kicking my butt. I think I have found my Kryptonite for sure!! However, I did finally make two cards yesterday for Valentine's Day (for my sisters) so I will get those up soon, promise! Check back soon! :o)

Dean's Honor Roll
Today my MIL dropped off some mail that went to her house. In it was an envelope from Wichita State University. I am so excited that I can't even tell you what it is... I have to show you:
I earned this bc of my 4.0 gpa last semester! I knew I had made it onto the honor roll bc it is on my transcripts but it was so neat to get an actual award! It is a funky size, though - don't you think? Like 1/3 of a letter. Weird. But it has the beautiful seal of WSY embossed on the top. Jared was so great because he stopped and gave me a big ol' grin and a kiss on my head and told me how proud he was of me. I am so proud of me too.

LOVE U!
This is my interpretation of a January Becky Fleck Sketch. I used Pebbles Inc paper (the brown polka dot which is double sided with the diamond patterned "torn" piece), Making Memories journaling block and mini alphas (2008)straight pin (in the flowers)& heart brads (tip right of the photo). The big heart came cut in this shape and was from the $1 section at Target (4 die cut papers for a buck!) as is the big 'ol "U" for the title. The crumpled polka dot paper is from Pink Paisley. And last, but not least, the pink "bling" are from Queen & Co. Everything else is from my stash so I dunno where it came from!
.
The picture is of my daughters this past October. Wichita State University (Go Shockers!) has a huge statue collection all over campus (One day I'll share a pic of the GIANT catipilar statue!) and we took a day to look at them. Even though there is a sign saying not to, we had to climb in this one for pics. This is by far one of my favorite pics of 2008.That was a long discription, sorry! Hope ya like it, TFL!
oh! The heart is bigger than the polka dot but the overall size is still 12x12.
